Shaikh Kalim-ur-Rahman Fani, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, to discuss ongoing support for Afghan returnees.
During the meeting, Mr. Fani emphasized that addressing refugee issues is a shared responsibility. He noted that in addition to emergency aid, returnees urgently require long-term support in areas such as housing, education, and healthcare.
In response, Filippo Grandi acknowledged the significant challenges posed by the large-scale return of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries and reaffirmed UNHCR’s commitment to continuing its assistance and support for returnees in Afghanistan.
