Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, has called on the United States to release Afghanistan’s frozen financial assets, in an interview with the TASS news agency.
Kabulov stated that the U.S. should unfreeze approximately $10 billion belonging to Afghanistan, and urged European nations to return an additional $2.5 billion held in a Swiss bank, originally designated for humanitarian assistance.
He also referred to the removal of the Islamic Emirate from Russia’s list of banned organizations, describing the move as a significant step toward expanding cooperation between Kabul and Moscow.
Kabulov further noted that Russia has strengthened its security coordination with the Afghan government across various sectors.
