Palestinian resistance groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad stated on Sunday that any indirect negotiations with Israel must result in a complete end to the war in Gaza, a full Israeli military withdrawal, the reopening of all border crossings, and the launch of reconstruction efforts in the devastated enclave.
The statement followed a joint meeting between delegations from both groups, though the location was not disclosed.
According to Hamas, the discussions focused on the “massive sacrifices and ongoing humanitarian suffering” caused by what they described as Israel’s “genocidal war, starvation tactics, and daily massacres.”
Both parties reviewed the status of ongoing talks in Doha, emphasizing that any agreement must prioritize a permanent ceasefire, full Israeli withdrawal, unimpeded humanitarian access, and the rebuilding of Gaza.
