Gaza Death Toll Nears 57,900 amid Israel’s Genocidal War

At least 57,882 Palestinians have been martyred in Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry reported on Saturday.

According to the ministry, 59 bodies were brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, while 208 others were injured—raising the total number of injuries to 138,095 since the beginning of the Israeli onslaught.

“Many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads, as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the statement added.

The ministry also reported that 17 Palestinians were martyred and more than 53 injured in the last 24 hours while attempting to access humanitarian aid. Since May 27, a total of 805 Palestinians have been martyred and over 5,252 wounded while seeking aid.

The Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January. Since then, 7,311 Palestinians have been martyred and 26,054 others injured.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
