Five more Palestinians, including two children, have been martyred due to starvation and malnutrition in the Israel-blockaded Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry reported on Saturday.
“Five people died of famine and malnutrition over the past 24 hours,” the ministry said in a brief statement on Telegram.
These latest deaths bring the total number of Palestinians martyred due to famine, triggered by Israel’s months-long blockade since October 2023, to 127—including 85 children.
Despite mounting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since October 7, 2023, martyring more than 59,700 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has devastated the enclave and caused severe shortages of food and essential supplies.
