Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Tuesday strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, describing the war as a campaign of “starvation and genocide,” and firmly rejected allegations that Cairo has blocked humanitarian aid from reaching the besieged territory.
“This war is no longer about political objectives or the release of hostages,” Sisi said during a press conference in Cairo alongside his Vietnamese counterpart. “It has long since exceeded all logic and justification, becoming a war of starvation and genocide.”
He further warned, “What we are witnessing is a systematic genocide aimed at eradicating the Palestinian cause.”
