Afghan, Kazakh Foreign Ministers Meet to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtileu to discuss the expansion of political and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing economic collaboration, exploring regional opportunities, advancing transit projects, and deepening political understanding.

Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s constructive approach toward Afghanistan and voiced hope that ongoing engagement would evolve into long-term cooperation, fostering greater partnership and mutual trust.

For his part, Foreign Minister Murat Nurtileu reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to expanding political, economic, and scientific cooperation with Afghanistan. He highlighted his country’s readiness to contribute positively to Afghanistan’s stability, regional transit, food security, and overall development.

The meeting concluded with both ministers expressing satisfaction over progress made on the Turghandi-Herat railway project and agreeing to continue technical cooperation moving forward.
