At least 56,077 Palestinians have been martyred in Israel’s ongoing genocidal war since October 2023, according to a statement from the Palestinian Health Ministry on Tuesday.
The ministry reported that 79 bodies were recovered and brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, while 289 others were injured, raising the total number of wounded to 131,848 since the start of the Israeli onslaught.
“Many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the streets, as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the statement added.
Israel resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had taken effect in January. Since then, 5,759 Palestinians have been martyred and 19,807 others injured.
