The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed appreciation for certain elements of the recent United Nations General Assembly proceedings, particularly the acknowledgment of the Islamic Emirate’s accomplishments in consolidating national security and combating narcotics, the emphasis on removing barriers to Afghanistan’s economic development, and the encouragement of member states to engage constructively with Afghanistan.
Concurrently, the Ministry criticized the resolution adopted during the session, asserting that it does not reflect the objective realities on the ground in Afghanistan and that the perspective of the Islamic Emirate was not solicited during the drafting or adoption of the document.
The statement further affirms that the recommendations and requests outlined in the resolution will be evaluated in light of Islamic principles, and feasible areas of cooperation will be identified accordingly.
