The plan includes the release of several Israeli hostages and the accelerated entry of humanitarian aid into the war-torn enclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">In a televised interview with Egypt\u2019s OnTV, Abdelatty said the initiative is being jointly developed by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States and is considered &#8220;a first step&#8221; toward achieving a lasting truce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat\u2019s currently on the table is a 60-day truce in exchange for the release of a number of Israeli hostages and the rapid delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, including essential medical supplies,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Abdelatty emphasized that the proposed arrangement aims to pave the way for a permanent ceasefire and the eventual implementation of the previously agreed January 19 framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is an American vision and understanding of the importance of incorporating guarantees into any forthcoming agreement to ensure the sustainability of a ceasefire,\u201d he noted. He also warned that any resumption of hostilities would pose a serious threat to regional stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The original January 19 agreement, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, envisioned a three-phased roadmap to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas. However, the deal collapsed after Israel resumed military operations in Gaza on March 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Despite mounting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli military campaign in Gaza has continued since October 2023. According to Gaza health authorities, over 56,500 Palestinians\u2014most of them women and children\u2014have been Martyred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
